At Airdeko, we believe great design shouldn’t come at the expense of performance. That’s why we sent our AC covers to a specialized lab to see exactly how they impact airflow. The results? Better than expected!
We partnered with Airflow Sciences Corporation, an independent and reputable engineering lab in the United States, to test how our decorative air conditioning covers affect the airflow of a standard Daikin outdoor unit.
The tests were conducted on a Daikin 18,000 BTU Mini-Split System (Ref: FTK18AXVJU / RK18AXVJU).
The lab looked at the following measurements
Airflow (CFM)
Fan energy use (amps)
Fan speed (RPM)
Tests were conducted on two real-life conditions:
Normal AC Mode (like on a regular summer day)
Powerful Mode (when your AC works hardest, like on a scorching afternoon)
Airflow ReadingsNet Free Area Readings
✅ Your AC still works great with our cover on
✅ No significant resistance due to airflow restriction
✅ No change to fan speed, meaning your unit doesn’t have to “fight” to compensate
Our covers are built to be 70% open in the key ventilation areas, and fully open in the back — more than enough for proper ventilation. These results confirm what we designed for: a stylish solution that’s safe for your air conditioning system.
